Max Mokarem | Momentum Motorsports
March 2025 – Ligier Junior Formula Championship | Rounds 1–3
At just 13 years old, Max Mokarem made a historic debut in the Ligier Junior Formula Championship, proving he’s one of the most exciting young prospects in American open-wheel racing. Racing with Momentum Motorsports, Max’s first weekend at NOLA Motorsports Park was a powerful blend of grit, speed, and maturity beyond his years.


Friday – Qualifying Drama
The weekend started with setbacks. During the qualifying session, Max’s fastest laps were deleted due to a red flag incident. It meant starting Race 1 from the very back of the grid—a tough break for any driver, let alone one making his national debut.
Race 1 – From Last to Sixth
The weekend began with challenges. After a red flag incident in qualifying deleted his fastest laps, Max was forced to start Race 1 from the back of the grid. Just a few laps into the race, things took a turn for the worse—his car suffered an engine issue, ending his race early and logging a DNF.
Race 2 – Staying in the Fight
Max responded with pure determination. Despite starting at the tail end of the field, he executed a flawless drive, overtaking car after car to finish P6. The performance turned heads across the paddock—showcasing Max’s racecraft, pace, and poise under pressure.
Race 3 – First Podium, First Award
The final race of the weekend was where Max truly made his mark. Launching off the line, he pulled off a daring move around the outside of pole-sitter Gastón Irazú in Turn 1 to take the lead. Though a later mistake dropped him to third, Max held firm and claimed his first podium finish in formula cars, becoming the youngest podium finisher in the series.
For his bold pass and standout performance, Max was awarded the Omologato Perfectly-Timed Pass Award, capping off a breakout weekend.
Championship Standings
Max leaves NOLA 6th in the championship standings with 23 points—an extraordinary start for a 13-year-old driver in a national championship.
Marked a major step in Max’s career
As he transitioned to open-wheel racing with LC Racing Academy in the Formula Fara F4 Series.


At just 12 years old, he competed against seasoned drivers and finished 10th in the championship standings.
Throughout the season, he demonstrated resilience with two top-5 finishes and several strong top-10 performances, overcoming challenges and mechanical setbacks along the way.

Securing 5 pole positions, 6 wins, and 13 podium finishes across multiple series.


His success included a third-place finish at the Rotax Grand Finals, a podium at the Stars Championship Series, and multiple wins in regional competitions.
